Most people are under the impression that XE and similar websites indicate what the cross border rate of the day is for INR to any other currency. This is absolutely not the case. XE or similar websites ONLY provide an exchange rate for FX within India only and not to transfer money outside of the country. The rates this site display are composed of an aggregation of daily rates that multiple providers in India offer for grey market/parallel market crossborder rates of the day. This rate is an average of the amalgamation of multiple crossborder rate providers in India. You can use this site as an indication of how much it costs to move money out of India and the typical FX rates for doing so.
